1.Where are you located and how long have you been designing?
I live in NYC (Harlem as a matter of fact). I’ve been making earrings for about 5 or 6 years, but my etsy store is a few weeks shy of a year old.

2.How did you come up with the name for your line/label?
Well, my name is Tyra. Before I started selling on etsy,
I would sell to friends and family. One of my good friends bought some
earrings for her cousin’s birthday and in a conversation shereferred to buying some “tyra made” earrings. That pretty much sums it up.

3.What inspires your designs?
I loooove
earrings myself so I usually make what I like. Most of the time the
materials I use dictate the designs, and I put my creative spin on
things.

4.What are one of your favorite Indie Designers/Brands?
I love sulu both personally and professionally. Susan Lutjen is actually a big inspiration to me and the way I run my etsy
shop. In fact, I borrowed a lot of ideas from her. Although she has
since moved to Portland, she used to be an NYC public school teacher
like me, which besides her adorable designs, attracted me to her shop.
She’s also just an all around great, down to earth lady.

5.What’s next for your designs?
I’m still updating my etsy shop, so be on the look out for what’s to come.
